Saketa is a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner serving our clients in Louisiana and Iowa. She’s been in nursing for over 9 years and completed her psychiatric training at the University of Mississippi Medical Center.

Trained as a psych NP, Saketa is a generalist with experience in treating a wide range of mental health conditions.

“I chose to become a psychiatric nurse practitioner because I saw firsthand how deeply mental and physical health are connected—especially for women. While working in women’s health as an RN, I realized so many patients were navigating emotional pain and mental health challenges without the support they needed. That experience lit a fire in me to be part of the solution. Becoming a psych NP has allowed me to provide compassionate, whole-person care and help bridge the gap between mental and physical wellness in a way that truly changes lives.”

Who Are Psych NPs?

Psychiatric nurse practitioners (psych NPs) are mental health specialists who provide therapy, prescribe medications, and offer holistic care by addressing both symptoms and the underlying factors contributing to mental health conditions. They’re highly trained to understand your unique situation, including identifying multiple conditions or uncovering underlying causes.

One of the things that sets psych NPs apart is their emphasis on collaboration—they create a safe, supportive space where you feel heard and understood. They’ll work with you to build a care plan and check in with you often to see whether it’s working or if it needs adjusting.
