Who Are Psych NPs?
Psychiatric nurse practitioners (psych NPs) are mental health specialists who provide therapy, prescribe medications, and offer holistic care by addressing both symptoms and the underlying factors contributing to mental health conditions. They’re highly trained to understand your unique situation, including identifying multiple conditions or uncovering underlying causes.
One of the things that sets psych NPs apart is their emphasis on collaboration—they create a safe, supportive space where you feel heard and understood. They’ll work with you to build a care plan and check in with you often to see whether it’s working or if it needs adjusting.
