ABOUT LAVENDER

Mental health care built from nursing expertise

Lavender is an online psychiatry and therapy practice. It was co-founded by two nurses with a belief that the best mental health care comes from clinicians who understand the whole patient. A nurse-led organization, built from day one around the expertise, values, and clinical judgment of our Psych Nurse Practitioner team. We’re not backed by venture capital or big corporate interests, just a passionate team that genuinely cares about making a positive impact, one person at a time.

REFERRALS

When to refer patients to Lavender

As a Nurse Practitioner, your scope is vast, but mental health care can quickly become complex. Lavender provides supportive, specialized psychiatric care, allowing you to partner with experts while keeping your primary focus on physical health.

Treatment-resistant cases

Failure of two or more standard antidepressant or anxiolytic trials at therapeutic doses

Comorbidities

Suspected bipolar disorder, PTSD, moderate-to-severe OCD, or adult ADHD requiring medication management

Diagnostic uncertainty

Overlapping mood, trauma, or personality presentations where a clear primary diagnosis is difficult

Polypharmacy risk

Complex multi-drug psychiatric regimens where drug-drug interactions require close monitoring

Clinical judgment

When your patient would benefit from combined therapy and medication management together

Ongoing medication management

When your patient requires ongoing psychiatric medication management and your load is too high

MENTAL HEALTH & PSYCHIATRY GLOSSARY

Help your patients find the words with our guide

Our mental health glossary was built to help patients understand their care. It covers common symptoms, conditions, and therapeutic modalities, and is a useful resource for NPs who want a shared language to use in conversations relating to behavioral health.
